Responsible Gambling
Gambling should be entertainment, not a source of financial pressure or emotional distress. If gambling is causing problems in your life, help is available. This page provides information about responsible gambling tools and support services accessible to players in Brazil.
Recognise the Signs
When Gambling Becomes a Problem
Problem gambling can develop gradually. Recognising the warning signs early is the most effective form of prevention:
Spending more money or time on gambling than you intended or can afford. Borrowing money, selling possessions, or using savings to fund gambling. Feeling restless, irritable, or anxious when trying to reduce or stop gambling. Chasing losses by placing larger bets to recover money already lost. Neglecting work, studies, relationships, or personal responsibilities because of gambling. Lying to family or friends about the extent of your gambling activity. Gambling to escape stress, anxiety, depression, or other emotional difficulties. Feeling unable to stop gambling even when you want to.
If any of these apply to you or someone you know, we encourage you to seek support from one of the organisations listed below.
Tools Available
Responsible Gambling Tools at Licensed Operators
Under Brazilian law (Law 14.790/2023 and associated SPA/MF regulations), all licensed operators are required to provide the following responsible gambling tools:
Deposit limits — Set daily, weekly, or monthly maximum deposit amounts. Once set, increases to deposit limits are subject to a cooling-off period before taking effect. Decreases take effect immediately.
Loss limits — Set maximum loss thresholds over defined time periods. When the limit is reached, further wagering is restricted until the next period begins.
Session time limits — Set reminders or automatic logouts after a defined period of continuous play.
Cooling-off periods — Temporarily suspend your account for a defined period (typically 24 hours to 30 days) during which you cannot log in, deposit, or place bets.
Self-exclusion — Voluntarily exclude yourself from the platform for an extended period (typically 6 months to 5 years). Self-exclusion cannot be reversed during the chosen period, even at your request.
Reality checks — Periodic on-screen notifications showing how long you have been playing and your net win/loss during the session.
We strongly recommend that all players set deposit and loss limits before they begin playing, even if they do not believe they are at risk of problem gambling. These tools exist as preventive measures, not just reactive ones.

For Families
Supporting Someone With a Gambling Problem
If someone close to you is struggling with gambling, these steps may help:
Learn about problem gambling so you can understand what the person is experiencing. This is a recognised behavioural condition, not a character flaw or a choice.
Express your concerns calmly and without judgment. Focus on specific behaviours you have observed rather than making accusations.
Do not lend money or cover gambling debts. Financial bailouts can enable continued gambling by removing the consequences that might otherwise motivate change.
Encourage the person to contact one of the support organisations listed above. Offer to help them make the call or attend a meeting if they are willing.
Take care of your own wellbeing. Supporting someone with a gambling problem can be emotionally demanding. Gambling Therapy and Jogadores Anônimos both offer support for family members and friends.
Our Position
Our Commitment to Responsible Gambling
As an independent research publisher, we have a responsibility to cover gambling in a way that is honest, measured, and mindful of the risks involved. Our commitments:
We do not target marketing or recommendations to anyone under 18.
We do not use language that portrays gambling as a guaranteed way to make money or as a solution to financial problems.
We include responsible gambling information and links to support services on every page of this site where casino recommendations appear.
We verify that every casino we recommend holds a valid SPA/MF licence, which includes mandatory responsible gambling requirements.
We encourage all players to set deposit and loss limits, to gamble only with money they can afford to lose, and to seek help at the first sign of a problem.
